Fastrack is a two-semester, globally recognised start-up program designed and delivered by highly experienced (and successful) entrepreneurs and innovators. The program is very popular and students are selected via competitive entry. Successful applicants will work with other high-performing students from across Monash’s 10 faculties in cross-disciplinary teams, to solve real-world challenges by taking their solution to market by the end of the program.

Challenge

Problem Space

As co-founders, we spent time exploring and discovering our shared "why" to collaborate on solving problems and creating impact in our chosen market space. We focused on identifying opportunities where we could make a meaningful difference.

Max, Gabe and I are adventure enthusiast and are deeply passionate about climate change and Australia’s road to Net-Zero. We believed we can make an impact in Food Waste space.

Result

Introducing Wonki.

Wonki is tackling Australia’s huge food waste issue and supporting local farmers, one delicious drop at a time. Wonki purchases misshapen but just-as-delicious seasonal produce destined for the waste heap, turning it into flavour-filled alcoholic drinks that are good for the planet and parties alike.

Metric - Feedback from Program Leader

Graded Mark 86

“A very solid pitch team that communicated strongly your belief in what you are doing and that the team is operating at an advanced level together. There was an emerging maturity to how you positioned yourselves and your potential business, so well done!”

My Role

Key Communicator

Constant and proactive communication with community members, potential customers, farmers, and businesses of interest was crucial to explore our problem space and refine our business idea. As the key communicator, I actively attended networking events, reached out to contacts, and fostered lasting relationships. This proactive approach was instrumental in achieving our key milestones.
